K-pop sensation PLAVE has reached a new career high with their latest single album.
According to Hanteo Chart, a leading South Korean music sales tracker, PLAVE's second single album 'PLBBUU', released on the 10th, has surpassed 1.09 million copies in its first week of sales, setting a new personal record for the group.
PLAVE, who debuted with first-week sales of 27,000 copies for their debut album, achieved a milestone of 1 million first-week sales with their third mini-album 'Caligo Pt.1', becoming the first boy group and virtual idol to do so. The latest single album continues this upward trajectory, marking another 'career high' and demonstrating their sustained popularity and rapid growth.
Despite being available in only two versions (PLBBUU VER, POCACALBUM VER), 'PLBBUU' has achieved the second-highest first-week sales for a boy group single, following BTS's 'Butter'. The collaboration with Sanrio Characters added collectible value, contributing to its success.
The digital performance is equally impressive. The title track 'BBUU!' has topped iTunes charts in seven countries, including Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Peru.
Currently, PLAVE is engaging with fans across Asia on their first tour, 'DASH: Quantum Leap', with stops in Jakarta, Bangkok, and Tokyo. They are set to conclude the tour with encore concerts at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome on the 21st and 22nd.
