The Guri Police Department in Gyeonggi Province reported that on the morning of the 15th, a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, was arrested on charges of attempted robbery with a weapon after breaking into Nana's residence. Mr. A allegedly threatened Nana and her mother, demanding money. In a brave act of self-defense, Nana and her mother managed to subdue the intruder and immediately alerted the authorities. The police apprehended Mr. A at the scene.
Nana's agency, SUBLIME, confirmed the incident, stating, "An armed intruder broke into Nana's residence. Due to the physical threat posed by the robber, Nana's mother suffered serious injuries and lost consciousness, while Nana herself was injured during the ordeal. Both are currently in need of medical treatment and absolute rest."
Similar incidents have been occurring with alarming frequency. In August, a woman identified as Ms. B was apprehended after trespassing into the parking area of BTS member Jungkook's private residence. She was not the only one attempting to approach Jungkook's home, and she has recently been granted a deferred prosecution. Industry insiders warn that "reckless approaches and stalking of globally renowned artists have reached dangerous levels."
Comedian Park Na-rae also fell victim to a home invasion in April, losing valuables worth tens of millions of won, including high-end jewelry and luxury bags. Her residence, a luxury home purchased in 2021 for approximately 5.5 billion won, was targeted.
These incidents are not limited to South Korea. In January, a burglary occurred at the Los Angeles home of actors Lee Byung-hun and Rhee Min-jung. Reports indicated that the burglary took place while Lee Byung-hun was away, and it was suspected to be the work of a gang targeting affluent areas in Los Angeles.
A broadcasting industry insider commented, "Such incidents have been alarmingly frequent this year. Home invasions are serious crimes that threaten not only privacy but also lives. It's crucial to recognize that these actions are unacceptable under any circumstances."
