Rumors of Former EXO Member Kris Wu's Death Resurface on Chinese Social Media
Rumors surrounding the death of former EXO member Kris Wu (Wu Yi Fan, 35), who is currently serving a prison sentence for sexual assault of minors, have once again surfaced on Chinese social media platforms.

On November 13, Taiwanese media outlet Sanli News reported that posts related to Kris Wu's alleged death were rapidly spreading on platforms like Weibo. According to the report, a user claiming to be an inmate alongside Kris Wu posted on Weibo stating, "Kris has died," and mentioned that rumors were circulating within the prison. Some posts also suggested theories of group assault and involvement of prison officials. Another anonymous user fueled the speculation by claiming that Kris Wu died after a prolonged hunger strike.

This is not the first time rumors of Kris Wu's death have emerged. In March, speculation arose when it was announced that four Canadian nationals had been executed in China, leading to conjecture that Kris Wu, who holds Canadian citizenship, might be among them. However, it was later clarified that those executed were involved in drug trafficking and had no connection to Kris Wu.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding Kris Wu's death, and the internet remains rife with unverified claims and anonymous posts.

Kris Wu debuted with EXO in 2012 but left the group in 2014 after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to nullify his exclusive contract. He gained popularity in China as an actor and singer but was exposed in December 2020 for sexual offenses involving three women, including minors. In 2022, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for rape and group lewdness.
