Comedian Park Mi-sun Returns to TV After Battling Breast Cancer

Comedian Park Mi-sun has made her first television appearance after battling breast cancer.

On the October 5th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (Episode 318), Park Mi-sun broke her 10-month hiatus and shared her recent experiences.

During the show, Park explained her reason for appearing, stating, "Many people were curious about my health, and there were too many fake news stories. I came on 'You Quiz' to let everyone know I'm alive and well."

Park Mi-sun also opened up about her battle with breast cancer for the first time. She revealed, "In February, my ultrasound showed no issues, but during a health check-up in December, a mammogram and biopsy revealed early-stage breast cancer. I had outdoor filming scheduled, so I planned to film and then undergo radiation therapy."

She underwent surgery on Christmas Eve and shared, "When they opened me up... this is the first time I'm saying this, but it had metastasized. When it metastasizes, chemotherapy is mandatory. After four rounds of chemo, I also developed pneumonia," she revealed, evoking sympathy.

Regarding her chemotherapy, Park Mi-sun added, "I was supposed to have four rounds, but it was divided into 12 sessions, followed by 16 rounds of radiation therapy and ongoing medication. It took a long time."

Park Mi-sun had paused her activities in February due to health reasons. In August, it was reported that she was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. At the time, her agency, Cube Entertainment, stated, "Due to personal medical information, it's difficult to confirm specifics, but she is taking a break for health reasons."
