Comedian Jo Se-ho addressed the 'breast cancer party controversy' on a recent episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz').
The episode, aired on the 12th, featured Park Mi-sun, who made a rare appearance on the show after her battle with breast cancer.
During the broadcast, Jo Se-ho was at a loss for words upon seeing Park Mi-sun, who was sharing her recent experiences after her illness. He eventually expressed his sincere apologies, saying, "It's been a while since I've seen you, and I feel sorry. I want to sincerely apologize for my attendance at the recent event."
Jo Se-ho further commented, "Meeting with seniors has been cautious since then. I am taking this opportunity to raise more awareness about breast cancer patients."
The event Jo Se-ho referred to was a 'breast cancer charity event' hosted by fashion magazine 'W Korea' on the 15th of last month. Despite its charitable intentions, the event faced criticism for being a lavish party under the guise of a breast cancer campaign.
In response to the controversy, W Korea issued an apology on their official website four days after the event, on the 19th, in the form of a pop-up message. The apology stated, "We deeply apologize for not considering the perspectives of breast cancer patients and their families, causing discomfort and hurt."
