Korean AfreecaTV streamer Kwajupseyeon, whose real name is In Se-yeon, made a significant amount of money on her birthday.
On October 9th, Kwajupseyeon shared a photo on her Instagram story, expressing gratitude to her friends and fans with the caption, "Thanks to the people who made me happy for 24 hours and the fans who have always been by my side!"
The photo showed Kwajupseyeon streaming on AfreecaTV during her birthday, where she received a massive amount of virtual gifts known as 'Star Balloons.' She highlighted the event by mentioning, "500,000 Star Balloons," drawing attention.
On AfreecaTV, one Star Balloon is equivalent to 100 Korean Won. Therefore, receiving 500,000 Star Balloons translates to a total of 50 million Korean Won. Depending on the streamer's status, the earnings can vary. Assuming Kwajupseyeon is a popular streamer, after a 3.3% withholding tax for freelancers, she would have earned approximately 33 to 38 million Korean Won on her birthday alone.
Previously, Kwajupseyeon appeared on a YouTube show, revealing, "I've received 100 million Korean Won in a single day on my birthday before. My highest monthly income was slightly over 400 million Korean Won." However, she added, "This is only possible with a large fan base. It's not something that happens every time."
