On the recent episode of JTBC's 'Knowing Bros' aired on the 8th, singer Sunmi, along with Lee Chan-won and Song Min-jun, made an appearance.
Returning to the show after five years, Sunmi expressed her excitement by saying, "I've missed you." She revealed that she was an audition peer with Shindong from SM Entertainment, reminiscing, "We once went to a burger place in front of the station together."
When questioned if they went alone, Shindong clarified, "At that time, Sunmi was in sixth grade, and I was twenty. I was just accompanying the young ones to the subway station."
Shindong, who won the grand prize at the audition, debuted with Super Junior, while Sunmi was cast by JYP and debuted with Wonder Girls. Sunmi humorously remarked, "Shindong was the top comedian, but I'm not sure if his act was grand prize-worthy," bringing laughter to the set.
Sunmi also shared her grievances about the show 'Star King,' saying, "I get chills when 'Star King' is mentioned." She revealed, "Hodong favored Girls' Generation more on 'Star King.'"
She continued, "When Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation appeared together, Hodong gave more attention to the Girls' Generation members." A flustered Kang Ho-dong explained, "I might have let you rest because you didn't seem well." Sunmi smiled, acknowledging, "Wonder Girls were indeed quite shy."
Sunmi confessed her dislike for recording Wonder Girls' national hit 'Tell Me,' saying, "I was 16 then, and they styled me with an 80s concept hair and makeup. I wanted to look pretty, but they permed my hair. The clothes were weird, and I really didn't want to do it. The song was all beep-beep-beep," she grumbled, bringing more laughter.
Meanwhile, Kang Ho-dong expressed his apologies to Lee Chan-won during the 'Knowing Bros' 500th episode special. He said, "Kim Young-chul unnecessarily created an emotional stage, cutting off Lee Chan-won's interview video." Lee Chan-won lamented, "Even my song was cut off after the first verse." Kim Young-chul boasted, "My song was played in full," causing an uproar of laughter.
