The K-pop group TEMPEST has revealed that they drew lyrical inspiration from BTS's music.
On the 27th, TEMPEST held a media showcase at Ilji Art Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their seventh mini-album, 'As I am.'
The new album features a total of five tracks, including the title song. Members LEW and Hyeok participated in writing the lyrics for the track 'CHILL.' LEW shared, "'CHILL' is a comforting song. All of us are in our 20s, and we tried to express the worries and anxieties we feel at this age through the lyrics. I referenced some memorable words of comfort I've heard."
Hyeok added, "During my trainee days, I would often practice until late at night and come out to see the morning light. I wrote the lyrics while recalling those emotions. I listened to a lot of music, especially songs by BTS, while working on the lyrics."
'As I am' marks TEMPEST's first release in about seven months since their sixth mini-album in March. The album conveys a message of self-belief and comfort to everyone. Through this album, TEMPEST captures the journey of finding one's true self by focusing on the process rather than being confined by predetermined outcomes.
The title track 'In The Dark' is a song for those who continue to move forward despite endless inner turmoil and fear, featuring autobiographical lyrics from the members.
TEMPEST's seventh mini-album 'As I am' is available for listening from 6 PM today.
