KBS2's New Show 'Noona is My Woman' Explores Age-Gap Romance with a Fresh Twist

KBS2's new variety show 'Noona is My Woman(누난 내게 여자야)' is set to differentiate itself from traditional dating shows by focusing on age-gap romances. The show aims to capture the excitement between career-driven women and younger men, offering both relatable content and entertainment.

On the 27th, a production press conference for KBS2's 'Noona is My Woman' was held at the KBS headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. The event was attended by hosts Han Hyejin, Hwang Wooseulhye, Wooyoung, and producer Park Jinwoo.

'Noona is My Woman' features women who have prioritized their careers over love and younger men who believe age is just a number when it comes to romance.

Producer Park Jinwoo stated, "I believe the title is as straightforward as it gets. Just by looking at it, you can sense what the program is about." He added, "Previously, dating shows often featured people in their 20s or older men. This time, we wanted to focus on stories where the woman is older. We hope those who have given up on or hesitated about love can feel excited and open their hearts again."

Han Hyejin commented, "We refer to the female participants as 'noonas.' The production team hasn't disclosed any information about them, so we don't know their ages or professions. However, it seems they've been focused solely on their careers."

Han Hyejin further shared, "Some people manage both work and love well, while others focus on just one. Personally, I believe I haven't missed out on either." She candidly added, "Having worked as a model from a young age, I often felt lonely. Despite being in the spotlight on stage, modeling isn't a profession where you interact closely with fans. I think I channeled that loneliness into romance."

Previously, Han Hyejin publicly dated Jeon Hyunmoo, whom she met on MBC's 'I Live Alone' in 2018, but they parted ways after a year.

Hwang Wooseulhye, when asked if she had ever heard the phrase "Noona is my woman," replied, "Since my mid-30s, I've mostly dated younger men. I guess they saw me as a woman, which is why we dated, but I don't think I've heard that exact phrase."

Hwang, who revealed in January that she is dating someone a year younger, said, "In my younger years, I chose work over love, which is why I ended up alone. Coincidentally, I'm currently dating a younger man. It seems that all the good men my age got married early, so I had more opportunities to meet younger men. As an actress, younger men tend to be more flexible and understanding, which makes it easier to connect."

Wooyoung, taking on his first role as a dating show host, said, "I wasn't really into trends, but people around me said dating shows were fun, so I started watching them. Initially, I was skeptical, but as I watched, I found myself rooting for the participants. I respect the courage it takes to reveal oneself for love."

Finally, producer Park Jinwoo expressed confidence, saying, "While the show reflects current trends, age-gap couples are just another form of love. I believe cuteness conquers all. You'll find the younger men on the show to be charming, lovely, provocative, yet masculine."

'Noona is My Woman' premieres on the 27th at 9:50 PM.
