Rising Star Cha Kang-yoon Shines in Multiple Roles, Set to Appear in 'Kim Bu-jang's Story'


Actor Cha Kang-yoon, known for his role as the only son of Kim Nak-soo (played by Ryu Seung-ryong) in 'Kim Bu-jang's Story', is making waves with multiple appearances in various projects this year.

Cha Kang-yoon has been cast in several significant roles this year. He kicked off his acting career in 2025 with JTBC's 'The Art of Negotiation', playing Choi Jin-soo, the youngest member and intern of the Sanin Group's M&A team.

Following this, he gained attention with his role in tvN's 'Someday Wise Resident Life', portraying Tak Ki-on, a rookie intern at Jongno Yulje Hospital. Despite his repeated mistakes, he showcased a meticulous and passionate character, capturing the essence of a three-month-old intern with sincerity and earnestness.

Cha also stood out in tvN's 'Gyeonwoo and Seonnyeo', where he played Pyo Ji-ho, a cheerful high school student. He captivated viewers with his pure crush on high school shaman Park Seong-ah (played by Jo Yi-hyun), bringing his unique refreshing charm and a sense of excitement to the role.

Cha Kang-yoon is set to appear in JTBC's new weekend drama 'Kim Bu-jang's Story', premiering on October 25th. The drama follows a middle-aged man who loses everything he once valued and embarks on a journey to discover his true self beyond his corporate title.

In the drama, Cha plays Kim Soo-gyeom, the only son of Kim Nak-soo (Ryu Seung-ryong) and Park Ha-jin (Myung Se-bin). Raised in comfort thanks to his father, Kim Soo-gyeom vows not to follow in his father's footsteps and faces the harsh realities of life as he carves out his own future.

Since his debut in tvN's 'Graduation' last year, Cha Kang-yoon has been showcasing his versatility by taking on diverse roles in major productions. His performance in 'Kim Bu-jang's Story' is highly anticipated, with expectations that he will demonstrate his rising star potential through his exceptional character portrayal.

Meanwhile, JTBC's new weekend drama 'Kim Bu-jang's Story' will premiere on October 25th at 10:40 PM.
