Lee Jae-won captivated audiences with his charming portrayal of the playboy driver, Kim, in the JTBC drama 'A Hundred Memories.' The series, centered around Go Young-rye (played by Kim Da-mi) and Seo Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun), explores the struggles and friendships of 1980s youth through the lens of bus conductors.
In the early episodes, Kim's witty banter and flirtatious antics brought energy to the show. However, as the series progressed, his reunion with former lover Jung-bun (played by Park Ye-ni) revealed a more complex side, filled with unresolved love and regret. A particularly poignant scene where he confronts his past choices through his daughter Su-jin earned him praise for his expressive performance.
In recent episodes, Lee Jae-won's character realizes that his desire to play the father role to Jung-bun, Sang-chul (played by Lee Won-jung), and Su-jin was rooted in selfishness. His emotional plea to Sang-chul, "As a man to another man, please take good care of our Jung-bun and Su-jin," moved viewers deeply.
Lee Jae-won expressed, "Playing Kim in 'A Hundred Memories' was truly special and enjoyable. I'm grateful to the conductors who fell for Kim and to the viewers who embraced his flawed character with warmth. I'm happy to have created another cherished memory through this project."
Previously, Lee Jae-won brought warmth and laughter in 'Lady Ok's Story' by supporting the lead, Choo Young-woo, like a brother. He will make a special appearance as a prosecutor in the Disney+ original series 'Fragmented City,' premiering on November 5.
