Actor Choi Woo-shik has expressed his desire to transition from boyish roles to more mature and sexy characters.
On October 19, the YouTube channel 'Yojung Jae-hyung' released a video titled 'Now I'm Sexy... You Decide.' The video featured a candid conversation between Jung Jae-hyung and Choi Woo-shik about their acting careers and public images.
He remarked, "The more I wear a school uniform, the more I think, 'This must be the last time.' On set, except for the main leads, everyone else is a real high school student. When I try to act younger, my speech becomes whiny, but real students don't talk like that. That's when reality hits me."
Choi revealed that he once wanted to break away from student roles. "There was a time I wanted to stop playing high school students. I wanted to try more masculine and gritty characters, wielding knives and shooting guns," he shared. However, after playing a killer, his perspective changed, and he humorously admitted, "Playing a high school student is the best. You just sit in class."
Choi expressed his interest in exploring roles that contrast with his boyish charm. "These days, I want to try tougher, more masculine, and sexy roles," he confessed. He added, "I believe every actor has their time, and such roles seem to come as if destined."
Jung Jae-hyung joked, "Yes, even 20 years later, you'll become the sexy middle-aged star Choi Woo-shik." Choi wittily responded, "It might be more effective to be sexy as a middle-aged man because there's less competition."
When Jung asked, "How far do you think you can go if you become more masculine? Do you want to try such roles?" Choi candidly replied, "Honestly, I want to take my shirt off someday and try sexy acting."
