Korean singer Kim Heung-gook has announced his decision to step away from politics and return to his roots as a singer and entertainer.
On the 20th, through his agency Daebak Planning, Kim declared, "Politics was not my path," effectively ending his political endeavors. Kim had previously garnered attention and controversy for his political activities, including supporting former President Yoon Seok-youl and participating in conservative rallies.
He expressed his desire to reconnect with the public through music and entertainment, stating, "I want to stand by the people with just songs and entertainment. Singing and smiling on stage is the true Kim Heung-gook." He emphasized his commitment to his original passion, saying, "Letting go of politics and living by singing and laughing with people is my happiness."
Kim Heung-gook revealed plans for his return to the stage as a singer. He is preparing new music that combines the lively energy of his hit song 'Ho-rang-na-bi' with a modern twist, aiming for a release by the end of the year. His agency stated, "He wants to capture the public's love once again with new music that embodies Kim Heung-gook's unique cheerful charm."
In addition to his music career, Kim announced plans to launch a personal YouTube channel. The channel will feature daily vlogs, behind-the-scenes content, and entertaining segments to engage with the audience. He shared, "Singing on stage and smiling in front of the camera is my life," adding, "I want to connect more closely with the public online."
Regarding his comeback, Kim stated, "The second act of my life is beginning," and expressed satisfaction if he could bring laughter and hope to the public once again. He concluded with his aspiration, "I want to become the nation's 'Ho-rang-na-bi' and fly across the stage."
