As he prepares for his upcoming military enlistment, Rowoon expressed his anticipation for his future self post-discharge.
On the 15th, Rowoon, the star of Disney+'s original series 'Turbid Flow,' was interviewed at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.
'Turbid Flow' is a historical drama series set in the Joseon era, revolving around the turbulent world of Gyeonggang, where all the money and resources of Joseon converge. It tells the story of individuals with different dreams striving to live with dignity. Rowoon plays Jang Si-yul, a laborer who becomes a rogue while hiding his past.
Rowoon, born in 1996, is set to enlist in the army on the 27th of this month and will be in his 30s upon discharge. When asked about his expectations as a 30-something actor, Rowoon candidly replied, "I think I'll be very sexy. I'm really looking forward to it." He added, "I'm also excited for my 40s and 50s. I think I'll be able to experience a lot more by letting go a bit. I have a sense of anticipation."
Having showcased a new side of himself as an actor through 'Turbid Flow,' Rowoon was asked about the genres he wishes to explore post-discharge. He humorously expressed, "I personally want to wear a school uniform again," and laughed. He continued, "As long as I take care of myself, it'll be fine. I'm planning to buy 20 cleansing foams. I've already bought two bottles of sunscreen," showing his confidence. He also proudly shared, "People say I look younger with short hair. I've been ID-checked three times recently," and added, "It's a playful desire, but it's not entirely absent."
Rowoon stated, "I plan to work non-stop, regardless of the genre. I want to do fun romantic comedies again and also movies. I'm going to do everything. I won't rest," showing his enthusiasm.
His expected discharge date is April 26, two years from now. Regarding the changes he anticipates post-discharge, he said, "A psychologist I admire once said that the psychological threshold for aging is 'the moment you stop questioning.' I believe that eyes don't lie. I think my eyes are clear. Everything is fascinating and fun. I think I'll view the world with the same perspective after returning from the military, so I expect to remain the same."
Lastly, Rowoon assured his fans, "I'll adapt well in the military and serve honorably, so don't worry. Please look forward to my return." He also requested, "I have many works on OTT platforms. I'd appreciate it if you continue to watch them over the next 1 year and 6 months."
The final episodes 8 and 9 of 'Turbid Flow' will be released on the 17th.
