Park Myung-soo Reflects on Kim Gun-mo's Past Struggles on Radio Show

Broadcaster Park Myung-soo expressed his sympathy for singer Kim Gun-mo's past struggles during a recent radio show.

On the October 16th episode of KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show', the segment 'Sincere Talk' featured broadcaster Baekga and model Lee Hyun-yi.

The trio discussed the theme 'Men and Women Who Feel the Autumn Blues'. When a listener shared that her husband has been emotional over old songs and dramas, Baekga humorously remarked, "I feel the blues all year round, not just in autumn." Park Myung-soo agreed, noting that men often become more sensitive in the fall. He added, "Autumn feels like a time to wrap things up. It makes you sentimental and down."

Park Myung-soo admitted to having his own sentimental moments. He shared, "While singing 80s songs on 'Hangout with Yoo', DJ Charles, who was with me, cried after hearing my song. He said, 'I felt your sincerity.'" However, he candidly added, "I've never cried over a movie or a ballad. I don't even cry at funerals."

During the conversation, Baekga mentioned Kim Gun-mo. He recalled, "I once went to support Gun-mo hyung at his concert, and he cried at the end." Park Myung-soo responded, "Imagine how hard it must have been for Gun-mo hyung," expressing his sympathy. The atmosphere turned somber for a moment.

Kim Gun-mo faced sexual assault allegations in 2019, leading to a halt in all his broadcasting activities. In November 2021, the prosecution decided not to indict him, and in June 2022, an appeal was dismissed. By November of the same year, a request for a retrial was also dismissed, concluding the case. Following the clearance of charges, Kim Gun-mo returned to the stage after six years to perform.
