Kang Tae-poong, played by Lee Junho, was moved to tears upon discovering a bankbook left by his father, Kang Jin-young, portrayed by Sung Dong-il.
In the second episode of tvN's weekend drama 'Typhoon Family,' aired on the 12th, Kang Tae-poong steps up to protect his father's company and colleagues, continuing his father's legacy.
Reflecting on the difficult times during the IMF crisis when his father's company and home faced hardships, Kang Tae-poong enters the company with mixed emotions. Oh Mi-seon, played by Kim Min-ha, asks Kang Tae-poong to fill out employment documents on his first day. As he becomes an employee at his father's company, he discovers a mysterious key in a family photo frame.
Using the password hint, Kang Tae-poong secretly returns to the company to open a safe, finding his own savings account, along with accounts for other employees and a family photo.
The next day, Kang Tae-poong invites Oh Mi-seon to lunch, saying, "Let's have lunch together today." He confides in her, "You're the only one I can ask. I want to learn the ropes. Looking back, I just wanted a bit of recognition from my father, but now I understand what he valued." He emphasizes his desire to become a true employee of Typhoon Trading.
Oh Mi-seon also shares Kang Jin-young's last words with Kang Tae-poong, "Our Tae-poong will do well. Please take care of him."
Kang Tae-poong is overwhelmed with emotion upon reading a message left by his father in the savings account, "I'm sorry. I miss you so much." Kang Jin-young's message reads, "I support your dreams. You are always the person I love the most. I wanted to show you that only what you achieve by facing and overcoming challenges can truly be called yours. People are more important than results." He had saved 990,000 won by depositing 300,000 won monthly.
Towards the end of the episode, Kang Tae-poong senses something amiss with Daebang Textiles and warns Oh Mi-seon, "A company that's been around for 30 years can't be this clean. Don't stamp anything or send any faxes." He throws himself in front of a truck to prevent a delivery.
