In the latest episode of MBC's daily drama 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun,' An I-seo's character, Min Soo-jung, navigates her future alongside her brother Kang Seok-jung and his wife.
On the episode aired on the 9th, Chairman Min Doo-sik, played by Jeon No-min, attempts to revise his will following a conversation with Jung Lucia, portrayed by Jang Shin-young. This move threatens the power of Min Kyung-chae, the eldest daughter and former president of Min Kang Distribution, played by Yoon Ah-jung. Amidst this turmoil, Min Ji-seob, played by Kang Seok-jung, and Oh Ja-kyung, portrayed by Son Se-bin, visit Min Soo-jung's room. Min Ji-seob suggests, "The era of Min Kyung-chae is over, and Lucia's era has begun. We need to find a way to survive," trying to persuade Min Soo-jung. However, Min Soo-jung retorts, "What should we seek? Just do as we're told," turning her head away. Oh Ja-kyung pressures her, "No, miss. Whose hands are your and your child's lives in right now!"
Min Soo-jung responds, "So you want us to grovel to that woman?" jumping at Oh Ja-kyung's words. Min Ji-seob exclaims, "It's not just groveling, we need to do more! Do you think our father will be on our side? That woman is practically the law now. If she decides to kick us out of the company like Kyung-chae, our father won't even blink." Min Soo-jung, contemplating, says, "Just wait! I'm thinking about what to do..." bowing her head. Min Ji-seob, now subdued, sighs, "How did we end up worrying about being kicked out..."
An I-seo, despite being a 'chaebol's illegitimate child,' portrays the complex inner world of Min Soo-jung, an executive director at Min Kang Distribution, with finesse. Her performance captures the intricate power struggles within the chaebol family. Known for her roles in films like 'Seha Byeol' and 'There Is No Heaven,' as well as dramas such as MBC's 'Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' and SBS's 'Would You Like a Taste?', An I-seo is praised for her portrayal of the glamorous and luxurious lifestyle of a chaebol heir.
