Comedian Hong Hyun-hee recently revealed her struggles with burnout during a therapy session.
On the 26th, Hong Hyun-hee and her husband, Jay Written, shared a video on their channel 'Hongssun TV' where they visited a psychiatrist together.
In the video, Jay Written expressed concern about his wife's recent changes, saying, "She seems to be going through something like adolescence. Emotions she had buried before seem to be surfacing all at once." He added, "She seems exhausted from the constant cycle of work and childcare, as if she's experiencing burnout."
Hong Hyun-hee candidly shared her feelings, stating, "Even my 3-year-old, Junbeom, has preferences like a love for cars, but I don't have any hobbies or preferences. I don't even know what I like. I feel like I need to find that, but I don't know how." She continued, "I feel like I don't have any long-term goals. It feels like ten years from now won't come, and I wonder, 'Will I even be alive then?'"
The psychiatrist noted, "Marriage and childbirth can be significant turning points in life." Hong Hyun-hee responded, "As my child started attending daycare and communicating more, I began to reflect on my life."
Jay Written mentioned, "She relieves stress through eating," to which Hong Hyun-hee replied, "Did I really eat something so unhealthy? I regret eating late-night snacks, and thinking about it makes me feel small."
After the therapy session, Hong Hyun-hee shared, "I'm known for being very conscious of others, but as I get older, it's becoming harder. During the session, when I was told to 'be mindful of myself,' I got emotional." She added, "Therapy doesn't have to be grand. By talking about myself, I hope to understand myself better and become a more vibrant person."
