Former Lovelyz member Lee Mi-joo has exposed shocking experiences with her former agency.
On the 26th, a video titled 'K-POP Trade Secrets, Now We Can Talk (feat. Ear Warning)' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Just Lee Mi-joo.'
In the video, Lee Mi-joo hosted a 'Princess Party' with fellow '94 liners Red Velvet's Seulgi, Oh My Girl's Hyojung, KARA's Youngji, and close friend Mamamoo's Moonbyul, who was born in '92. Lee Mi-joo humorously expressed her nervousness, saying, "This is the first time we're broadcasting as a complete five-member group. It's scary."
The members reminisced about their time as second-generation girl group members. Hyojung recalled borrowing Lovelyz's outfits, mentioning, "Some members couldn't zip them up. I realized how slim the seniors were."
Lee Mi-joo named the school uniform outfit from 'Candy Jelly Love' as her favorite, but admitted, "I was a bit chubby, so I barely managed to zip it up. I was so shocked that I lost 8kg for the 'Ah-Choo' promotions."
Standing at 165cm, Lee Mi-joo shared, "I went down to 44kg, but I'm back to 46kg now," highlighting the extreme dieting reality for girl group members. Moonbyul commented, "If I had to do Lovelyz or Oh My Girl's concept, I would have quit," expressing her amazement.
Lee Mi-joo also shared a harrowing broadcast accident story from her 'Destiny' promotions. She revealed, "Right before going on stage, I noticed the sole of my high heels was worn out. I asked the stylist to change them, but they told me to just go on stage due to lack of time."
As a result, Lee Mi-joo twisted her ankle on stage, held back tears, and finished the performance before collapsing. She went to the emergency room with a ligament rupture, and a company representative remarked, "Did the camera catch you falling?" leaving her with a bitter expression.
The members were shocked, saying, "People come first," while Youngji, who often bickers with Lee Mi-joo, angrily exclaimed, "Go to hell!" Lee Mi-joo added, "After that, I only wore sneakers," evoking sympathy.
