SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Queen Mantis' (hereafter 'Mantis') is racing towards its climax. With only two episodes left until the finale, 'Mantis' tells the story of a brutal serial killer mother, Jung Yi-shin (played by Go Hyun-jung), and her detective son, Cha Soo-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon), who has harbored a lifelong hatred for her. Together, they work to catch the perpetrator of the Mantis copycat murder case.
In previous episodes, two prime suspects in the Mantis copycat murder case were found dead. Seo Goo-wan (played by Lee Tae-gu) died in a mysterious hit-and-run accident, while Park Min-jae (played by Lee Chang-min) was attacked by a suspicious figure named Joey. As the investigation hits a dead end, Jung Yi-shin and Cha Soo-yeol deduce that Kang Yeon-jung, a child abused by one of Jung Yi-shin's past victims, grew up to commit the Mantis copycat murders and is the same person as Joey.
Viewers are on the edge of their seats, wondering if Kang Yeon-jung is indeed Joey, and if this person is truly the Mantis copycat killer. With only two episodes remaining, all will be revealed soon.
On the 26th, the 'Mantis' production team teased, "In today's (26th) broadcast of episode 7, the Mantis copycat killer will go on a rampage. During this process, the true identity of the killer will be revealed, shocking and confusing Jung Yi-shin and Cha Soo-yeol."
They continued, "As the killer's identity is unveiled, the plot will begin to unfold like a storm. The actors, deeply immersed in their characters, will enhance the intense storyline with their exceptional performances. In particular, the overwhelming performances of Go Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon will make the 60 minutes fly by. We ask for your continued interest and anticipation for 'Mantis,' which is not over until it's over."
Episode 7 of 'Mantis' airs tonight at 9:50 PM.
