The final members of the eight-member group Alpha Drive One have been unveiled. After four months of intense training, Chinese members Zhou Anxin, He Xinlong, Zhang Jiahao, and Wake One's Jung Sang-hyun were selected. Previously, Kim Gun-woo, who appeared as an independent trainee, was revealed to be affiliated with Wake One, leading to a contract termination and apology amidst controversy. This group follows in the footsteps of Mnet's survival show that created ZeroBaseOne two years ago.
On the live finale broadcast of Mnet's 'Boys 2 Planet' on the 25th, the debut group was formed.
The group name revealed was 'Alpha Drive One.' MC Kim Jaejoong explained, "It signifies a team with the goal, passion, and drive to become the best. Look forward to the growth and journey of 'Boys 2 Planet's official group."
The first member announced was Jung Sang-hyun. He expressed, "I didn't expect this at all. I feel like I should say something, but words fail me. I'm truly grateful for the support despite my shortcomings. I will never forget this moment and will continue to move forward. Thank you."
In sixth place was Ilio. He pledged, "I sincerely thank the star creators who supported me. Supporting me couldn't have been easy, but I promise to repay your love with impressive activities as a proud member of Alpha Drive One."
Zhang Jiahao secured the fifth spot. He shared, "I never thought I was particularly lucky, so I couldn't imagine this outcome. Since meeting you all, luck seems to have found its way into my life. Thanks to you, I live a happier life each day. Thank you sincerely," he conveyed in his limited Korean.
Kim Gun-woo took fourth place. He reflected, "This is a moment I've dreamed of during my trainee days. I had so many worries about debuting at the final stage. It's an unexpected moment, and I'm overwhelmed."
He Xinlong was announced in third place. He expressed gratitude, "I sincerely thank the star creators who have supported and loved me from the beginning. Because of you, I could stand on this amazing stage and become a more loved person."
The top spot was a nail-biting contest between Lee Sang-won and Zhou Anxin. Ultimately, Lee Sang-won, who had consistently led since the first survival announcement, claimed the first place. He joyfully stated, "Today might be the day I cherish you all more than myself. I'm so happy and grateful."
He continued, "Without the fans and star creators, I wouldn't be here. I appeared on this show thinking of you and gave it my all. In my life and in the moments I've lived, I want to say there has never been, and will never be, a journey as beautiful as this."
The final member announced was Kim Jun-seo, who edged out Yoo Kang-min and Choi Lip-woo to become the eighth member of Alpha Drive One. Kim Jun-seo shared, "This challenge was daunting, and honestly, I felt more fear than excitement. I tried to think I'd be happy even if I didn't make it, but I'm grateful for this gift of debut."
