Koo Jun-hoe, a member of the group iKON that debuted in 2015, is set to expand his acting repertoire.
Koo Jun-hoe will appear in the upcoming Dramax and Wavve original drama 'Damnation' (directed by Choi Hyung-joon, written by Kim Dan-bi, produced by Tiger Studio), which is set to premiere on the 24th.
'Damnation' is a crime thriller about an unknown actor who loses both his family and dreams to a voice phishing scam. He infiltrates a large voice phishing organization using deepfake technology to exact revenge, making it a timely narrative that addresses the growing societal issue of voice phishing and AI-based crimes, sparking curiosity even before its release.
In the drama, Koo Jun-hoe takes on the role of Park Jung-hoon, an elite and handsome detective who graduated at the top of his class from the police academy. He is expected to deliver a compelling performance as he teams up with Ha So-min (played by Lee Joo-young) to uncover the organization's secrets, adding tension to the storyline.
Koo Jun-hoe has already garnered significant attention from international fans through the teaser video. As this is his first foray into this genre, he promises to showcase a new side of his acting abilities, heightening anticipation among prospective viewers.
Having consistently pursued acting roles across both television and film, including ENA's 'Bora! Deborah', Channel A's 'Marry YOU', and the movie 'Again 1997', Koo Jun-hoe has built a diverse filmography, proving his potential as an actor. All eyes are on how he will perform in 'Damnation'.
