The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crime Investigation Unit summoned Bang at 10 a.m. on the 15th as a suspect in the case.
Dressed in a suit, Bang stood before the press line after stepping out of his vehicle. He briefly stated, "I apologize for causing concern due to my personal matters. I will sincerely cooperate with today's investigation."
When reporters asked, "Did you instruct the sale of shares during the IPO process?", "Was it planned for profit?", and "Did you solicit a private equity fund?", Bang replied, "I will address these questions during the investigation," before entering the police station.
The police suspect that Bang profited approximately 190 billion won by receiving 30% of the stock sale proceeds through this structure.
The investigation began in earnest late last year after police received related intelligence. The Financial Supervisory Service's special judicial police are also conducting a separate investigation under the prosecution's guidance.
Last month, Bang addressed the issue in an internal company message, stating, "I am reflecting on any shortcomings and oversights during our growth process," and promised to "explain and resolve all situations sincerely to prevent any burden on the company and its members due to personal issues."
