South Korean Actress Lee Ui-jung Celebrates Recovery After 15-Year Battle with Brain Tumor

South Korean actress Lee Ui-jung has shared the emotional news of her recovery after a 15-year battle with a brain tumor.

On the October 10th episode of MBN's 'People Who Protect Life', Lee appeared as a guest and opened up about her health struggles.

During the show, Lee recalled the first signs of her health issues, saying, "While working on the sitcom 'Three Guys and Three Girls', I was so exhausted that I couldn't sleep for more than 30 minutes. I eventually had to leave the project just to get some rest."

She continued, "While washing my face, my hand moved sideways, and I experienced a splitting headache. After being advised to visit a major hospital, my memory went blank. That was the first warning sign, and it led to a 15-year battle with the illness."

One of the most shocking moments during her illness was encountering a 'fake death article'. She recounted, "I saw an article titled 'Lee Ui-jung Passes Away'. I called my father and asked, 'Am I dead?' He was so shocked that he hung up the phone."

Lee also shared, "I was told that brain tumors can have aftereffects five years later. Mine manifested as avascular necrosis of the hip. If it had affected my liver or stomach, I might not have survived. It's sad to think about it this way."

Previously, Lee had revealed on 'Exclusive World' that she underwent gallbladder removal and uvula resection surgeries.

Lee was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor in 2006 and has now been declared cancer-free after a 15-year battle.
