The Seoul Central District Court's Civil Settlement Division 41 (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il) will conduct the second mediation session at 1:30 PM, regarding ADOR's lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with the five members of NewJeans.
During the first mediation session held on September 14, NewJeans members Minji and Danielle were present. Typically, parties involved are required to attend the mediation process. The session lasted approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes but did not result in an agreement, leading to this second session. It remains to be seen if NewJeans members will attend this time.
If this mediation fails, the court is expected to deliver a verdict on October 30, according to legal experts.
During the third hearing last month, NewJeans compared the situation to "a father who committed domestic violence kicking out the mother and then telling the child who left home, 'I'll find you a better mom, come back.'" They expressed their refusal to return. In a petition, the members stated, "Returning to ADOR is like telling a school violence victim to go back to where the perpetrator is."
Meanwhile, ADOR has extended an invitation for NewJeans to return and work together again. However, they remain firm in their stance against the group's primary demand for Min Hee-jin's reinstatement.
