K-pop band DAY6 has released a documentary to commemorate their 10th anniversary.
On October 9, DAY6 shared the video 'DAY6 10th Anniversary Documentary <DAY6: Time of Our Decade>' on JYP Entertainment's official YouTube channel.
The documentary captures DAY6's journey from their inception, sharing personal anecdotes, heartfelt stories, and their genuine passion for music. It takes fans, known as My Day, through the band's memories and friendships from their early days performing in small venues in 2015 to their present and future aspirations.
Young K reflected on the band's beginnings, saying, "Looking back, it seems like we were always meant to be a band. Initially, I was afraid music would consume my life, which is why I created a stage name. But over time, it became a part of me." Wonpil reminisced about the Every DAY6 project, stating, "When we held our concert in December 2017, it felt like an achievement. The following year, we performed at the Olympic Hall, which was a huge venue for us, and it was filled with fans. It felt like a reward for 2017, and it was all thanks to My Day."
Leader Sungjin spoke about the strengthened friendships over time, saying, "In my 20s, I lived passionately. I realized how much the members cared for me, and I was grateful. It made me think, 'Am I truly sincere about DAY6?'" Dowoon expressed his surprise at the band's resurgence with hits like 'You Were Beautiful' and 'I Smile,' saying, "It was amazing and surprising. We exist because of our fans. Thank you so much."
The members gathered to discuss various topics, with Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon sharing, "Each of us has different roles, and we strive to do our best. We all want to be part of DAY6, and when challenges arise, we find ways to overcome them." They expressed gratitude to My Day, saying, "You are the reason we perform and continue. Thank you for waiting and welcoming us with love. It's a blessing to have fans like My Day."
On October 5, DAY6 released their fourth studio album and title tracks 'Bus of Dreams' and 'INSIDE OUT.' The band will kick off their 10th anniversary tour 'DAY6 10th Anniversary Tour < The DECADE >' starting in Bangkok on October 27.
