Airing this November on tvN, 'Perfect Glow' will feature top Korean hair and makeup experts, led by CEO Ra Mi-ran and manager Park Min-young, as they open a Korean-style beauty shop in Manhattan, New York. The show will capture their journey as they introduce the essence of K-beauty to the local scene.
According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC), last year, South Korea's cosmetics exports to the U.S. surpassed traditional powerhouse France, reaching approximately 2.5 trillion won. This year, South Korea's cosmetics exports have climbed to second place globally, overtaking the U.S. Additionally, the 'Korea Glow Up' meme and challenge, created by international influencers, have gained traction on global social media platforms. Videos comparing appearances before and after experiencing K-beauty have garnered high viewership, spreading like a trend.
As interest in K-beauty continues to rise worldwide, more foreigners are traveling to Korea to experience or shop for K-beauty products firsthand. The show will document people of various nationalities experiencing Korean-style beauty transformations, capturing their before-and-after looks.
The beauty shop will be led by Ra Mi-ran, who combines charisma and humor with her unique leadership style, uniting both staff and customers. Park Min-young, known for her fluent English, will take on the role of consultation manager. She is expected to enhance customer satisfaction with her exceptional beauty sense and warm interactions.
'Perfect Glow' premieres on November 8th.
