Shoo, a former member of the popular K-pop group S.E.S., recently shared candid thoughts about her marriage and separation from her husband, Im Hyo-sung, on her YouTube channel 'Human That's Shoo'.
In a video titled 'Dinner with My Sister and Her Husband (Hyo-sung's Pants Story)', Im Hyo-sung humorously responded to a question about the duration of their marriage by saying, "Are you asking about the actual marriage?" He confirmed that they are "still maintaining the marriage," which drew laughter. Shoo reminisced, "We got married in April 2010," capturing viewers' attention.
Shoo's brother-in-law commented on the couple, saying, "They seem very happy together. They play well with their kids, and Shoo has many strengths. She's very proactive with the children, and their father supports her well."
Im Hyo-sung candidly shared, "We used to meet often with my sister-in-law's family until Su-young's business failed." He added, "After a fight with Shoo, I once took the kids to my sister-in-law's house in Daejeon."
Shoo's brother-in-law recalled the immense popularity of S.E.S. in the 2000s, noting that Im Hyo-sung became known as "Shoo's husband," losing his own identity. He humorously lamented that Shoo rejected a blind date with a doctor he had arranged, saying, "You should have introduced him to me till the end."
Im Hyo-sung reminisced about their early relationship, saying, "After dating, I went to the U.S. and our phone bill was 2 million won." Shoo's sister commented, "She said she liked funny guys, and she met Im Hyo-sung."
The sister and her husband revealed that they visited separately to offer condolences after Shoo and Im Hyo-sung had a fight. Shoo admitted, "We weren't on good terms then," to which her sister replied, "We were happy to receive separate condolence money," bringing laughter.
Shoo expressed her gratitude towards her sister, saying, "She told me, 'People don't die easily,' and supported me during my entertainment career, saying, 'It's sad, but you need to be strong when things go down.'"
Shoo shared an incident where Im Hyo-sung confiscated their children's phones during a meal in Japan, prompting the kids to retort, "Dad, don't smoke."
Im Hyo-sung, who occasionally quits smoking, shared a humorous story, "I pretended to drown in the pool, and Ra-yul came to save me. Then she said, 'Ra-hee, Dad's dead, now we can use our phones,'" highlighting the challenges of fatherhood. He lamented, "Korean men seem to become more isolated as their kids grow up."
When asked by her sister if he would marry again, Im Hyo-sung confidently replied, "I would." Shoo also responded positively, saying, "When I see our kids, I think of them as my masterpiece."
Meanwhile, Shoo and Im Hyo-sung, who married in 2010, have been living separately for four years. Im Hyo-sung revealed that they live as a weekend couple due to unresolved issues regarding divorce and child custody, stating, "We loved each other before, but not anymore," which has sparked public interest.
