South Korean band DAY6 expressed their excitement and nerves as they celebrated their 10th anniversary with a special performance.
On August 31, at 6:30 PM, DAY6 kicked off their 'DAY6 10th Anniversary Tour 'The DECADE'' at the Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, South Korea.
During the early part of the concert, member Dowoon shared his enthusiasm, saying, "The outdoor stage is incredibly nice. It's hot. We're here with My Day (our fandom) from all over the world through Beyond Live." He also revealed, "Wonpil was very nervous before the performance and even prayed because he was so anxious."
Young K reflected on the past decade, stating, "The setlist allowed us to look back on the last 10 years. Our goal was to include the title tracks from all our albums. We wanted to take a moment to reflect." He added, "I feel like I've lived well. There have been various events, but at this moment on stage, I feel like I'm living a happy life. Thank you all. I want to continue walking this path together. I'll work hard to be as happy as possible."
Sungjin shared his thoughts on the 10th anniversary performance, saying, "We're a team that purely loves music. It's you who make us look good. Of course, we take pride in having no songs to discard from the past 10 years. We've worked hard, but not everything goes perfectly. It's always My Day that makes us who we are. As long as we're breathing, we'll keep trying. We'll return the overwhelming love you've given us, so please accept it gradually."
Wonpil acknowledged the challenges they've faced, saying, "We know there are negative views about us. We wanted to write good songs and show great performances to counter those views. When everyone said no, those here believed in us. We've all done well and will continue to do so."
The Goyang concert, part of DAY6's 10th-anniversary tour, took place over two days, August 30 and 31. The band achieved a complete sell-out of all seats during the general sale on August 11. Since their debut in 2015, DAY6 has steadily increased the size of their venues, starting from Yes24 Muv Hall to KSPO Dome in May. Notably, they became the first Korean band to perform at Gocheok Sky Dome, KSPO Dome, and Goyang Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, DAY6 is set to release their new full-length album 'The DECADE' and its title tracks 'Bus of Dreams' and 'INSIDE OUT' on September 5 at 6 PM on various music streaming sites.
