Veteran actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo has shared her experiences of running a garment factory during her time in the United States.
On the 27th, Sunwoo Yong-yeo's YouTube channel, 'Sunpung Sunwoo Yong-yeo,' released a video titled "Sunwoo Yong-yeo's 8-Year Struggle with Racism in America (Heartfelt Stories from LA)."
In the video, Sunwoo revisited her old home, garment factory, and a Korean restaurant in Los Angeles, where she lived 40 years ago. She revealed, "My husband bought a garment factory on the recommendation of a boss he knew in Seoul. Initially, we sold one apartment to start, and when the factory didn't succeed, we ended up selling four more apartments."
The production team was left speechless by the story of selling four apartments, but Sunwoo reassured them, saying, "It's okay." When the team mentioned, "Those apartments in Banpo are worth 5 to 6 billion won now," Sunwoo responded positively, "Why think about it? It's already in the past. I don't dwell on yesterday's events. Why think about what's gone? It's a headache. What's important is enjoying today and living well."
Sunwoo Yong-yeo married businessman Kim Se-myung in 1970, and they had a daughter and a son. Unfortunately, Kim Se-myung passed away in 2014. Sunwoo faced business failures after immigrating to the U.S. but returned to Korea, where she gained immense popularity with her role in 'Soonpoong Clinic,' leaving behind iconic catchphrases.
