The 30th Busan International Film Festival has announced the lineup for this year's Actors House, featuring renowned actors Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Kim Yoo-jung. Notably, Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin star as a couple in this year's opening film, 'Hopeless'.
Actors House is a signature program of the Busan International Film Festival, where contemporary actors known for their acting prowess and star power share candid and in-depth stories about their careers and works. This year, with the participation of leading Asian actors like Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Kim Yoo-jung, attendees can expect a unique opportunity to hear intimate stories about their acting journeys.
First, the stars of the opening film 'Hopeless', Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin, will grace the Actors House. Lee Byung-hun, known for his commanding presence on both the big and small screens, has showcased his versatility in projects like Netflix's 'Squid Game' (2021), 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra' (2009), 'Inside Men' (2015), and the upcoming 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (2025). Having won the Best Actor award at the 2023 Blue Dragon Film Awards, he will share insights into his acting philosophy and experiences.
Son Ye-jin, known for her dynamic roles in films like 'The Classic' (2003), 'Crash Landing on You' (2019), 'The Truth Beneath' (2016), and 'The Last Princess' (2016), will also engage in a conversation in Busan. With her unique acting style, she has left a lasting impact on audiences. During this session, she will share behind-the-scenes stories and future plans, offering a glimpse into her acting world.
Kazunari Ninomiya, a former member of the iconic Japanese idol group Arashi, will also participate in Actors House. Having achieved early success, he has proven his acting skills in films like 'Letters from Iwo Jima' (2006), 'Living with My Mother' (2015), 'The Crimes That Bind' (2018), and 'Asada Family' (2020). He has been recognized with awards such as the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the Japan Academy Film Prize. This year, he will showcase a new side in 'Exit 8', and at Actors House, he will reflect on his career and growth.
Actress Kim Yoo-jung will also meet with audiences at Actors House. Building on her extensive experience since her child actor days, she has grown into a leading figure in Korean film and drama with works like '20th Century Girl' (2022) and 'My Demon' (2024). With the upcoming release of 'Dear X' in November, which has already generated buzz with its trailer, she will share her thoughts and passion for acting, resonating deeply with the audience.
