Rowoon, also known as Kim Seok-woo, is set to enlist in the military as an active duty soldier on October 27. The 29-year-old actor, who initially received a 7th-grade health classification, will now fulfill his mandatory military service.
FNC Entertainment, Rowoon's agency, announced on the 26th that Rowoon was originally scheduled to enlist on July 21. However, he received a 7th-grade classification during his initial physical examination, prompting a re-evaluation in early August. Following the re-examination, he was deemed fit for active duty service.
Rowoon's initial enlistment was delayed due to the unexpected re-evaluation, but he quickly submitted an appeal for a re-assessment. Earlier this month, he received confirmation of his eligibility for active duty, alleviating concerns among his fans. Rowoon expressed his desire to fulfill his military duties promptly.
Fans have shown their support, expressing their hope for Rowoon's safe return after completing his service. "We will wait for him to complete his service diligently and return," fans commented.
Rowoon debuted as a member of the K-pop group SF9 but later transitioned to acting. He has appeared in dramas such as 'School 2017', 'Extraordinary You' (2019), and 'The King's Affection' (2021). He is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series 'The Murky Stream' as Jang Si-yul, which will be released on the 26th.
FNC Entertainment has requested that fans refrain from visiting the enlistment site to avoid congestion, as no official events will be held on the day of Rowoon's enlistment. The agency expressed gratitude for the continued support and asked for fans' encouragement until Rowoon completes his service and returns safely.
Thank you.
