'Island Bachelor Hero' Lim Young-woong received a warm welcome on Somodo Island.
The first episode of SBS's variety show 'Island Bachelor Hero' aired on the 26th, featuring singer Lim Young-woong, science YouTuber Gwedo, and 'Iron Chef' Lim Tae-hoon heading to Somodo Island.
Lim Young-woong, embarking on an unplanned island village trip with his close friends Gwedo and Lim Tae-hoon, shared, "I thought it would be nice to go to a remote place and have serious, good conversations with the three of us, and here we are."
While traveling by boat and gazing at the sea, Lim Young-woong reminisced, "I used to attend many cruise events during my unknown days. It brings back memories."
The production team surprised the cast by revealing, "There are no supermarkets, convenience stores, or restaurants on the island." Upon receiving a map of Somodo, the group expressed excitement, saying, "It looks like a fairy tale village."
After arriving on Somodo and walking up steep hills to their accommodation, Lim Young-woong expressed satisfaction, saying, "As soon as I put down my luggage and stretched my back in the yard, the view was amazing. I was completely captivated." Meanwhile, Lim Tae-hoon, true to his chef nature, showed interest in the cauldron and kitchen, bringing laughter.
During room assignments, Lim Tae-hoon got a single room due to snoring issues. When asked, "Doesn't anyone snore?" Lim Young-woong replied, "I don't snore." Upon seeing the empty refrigerator, Lim Young-woong lamented, "I came for a healing trip, but it feels like survival. There was nothing in the fridge."
The trio toured the island to greet the elders. The village chief of Somodo warmly welcomed Lim Young-woong, saying, "A precious guest has come to Somodo." Lim Young-woong explained, "We came for a trip and are going around to greet the elders."
The village chief's wife, a devoted fan of Lim Young-woong, expressed her delight with a warm hug and even offered an umbrella as a gesture of affection. The women's association president also hugged and shook hands with Lim Young-woong, exclaiming, "Seeing you on TV is so lovely. It's crazily beautiful," and added, "My heart flutters. It's more exciting than seeing my son," causing laughter.
After greeting the villagers, the trio took a nap. Lim Young-woong shared, "In my usual life, even if I lie down to sleep, I can't fall asleep easily, but on the island, I felt so at ease that I fell asleep as soon as I lay down. It seems to have replenished my energy," showing a healing side.
