CORTIS, the latest boy group from Big Hit Music, is set to debut following in the footsteps of BTS and TXT.
CORTIS, consisting of members Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, held a media showcase on the 18th at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES'.
This marks Big Hit Music's third group launch after BTS in 2013 and TXT in 2019. All five members are teenagers, showcasing their creative talents in songwriting, composing, performance, and videography, drawing from their personal stories.
With the global success of their predecessors BTS and TXT, expectations for CORTIS are high, adding pressure on the members. Martin expressed, "It would be a lie to say there's no pressure. With such outstanding seniors, we practice with a sense of responsibility to do well."
Juhoon added, "As Martin mentioned, there is pressure, but we are grateful to debut under the Big Hit label. Despite being rookies, the company allowed us to participate in the album-making process, which is rare and something we are thankful for. We will work hard with this gratitude in mind."
The title track 'What You Want' combines the nostalgic guitar riffs of 1960s psychedelic rock with a hip-hop-based boom-bap rhythm, offering a fresh sound. The five members boldly declare their determination to seize what they desire.
CORTIS's debut album title track 'What You Want' will be released at 6 PM today.
