Chef Son Jong-won Opens Up About Challenges in the Culinary World
Son Jong-won shares his challenges, resonating with Jung Jae-hyung.

On Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae-hyung,' a video titled 'Why do you look happier than during the 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' days? What's your secret?' was uploaded.

In the video, Jung Jae-hyung asks Son Jong-won, "While some people enjoy their meals, aren't there also difficult customers?" Son Jong-won responds, "These days, many people ask to take photos. Sometimes, when explaining dishes, people place their phones right in front of my face, especially when there are about four mothers at a table."

Son Jong-won continues, "It's a bit surprising. When a polite person asks if they can take a photo, someone next to them might just say 'take it,' which is surprising but also amusing and appreciated."

Jung Jae-hyung comments, "Chefs must always be overwhelmed," to which Son Jong-won replies, "It's stressful, but it has become a part of life. When guests offer kind words, it really lifts my spirits."

Regarding Michelin, Son Jong-won says, "It's part of a journey towards a goal, but it's not the sole purpose. Many chefs don't aim solely for Michelin." Jung Jae-hyung adds, "I dislike when crew members change. Do you feel the same?" Son Jong-won admits, "Initially, I felt self-doubt, wondering if they left because of me. But with experience, I've learned to instill more meaning in working together with the team."
