Television personality Lee Guk-joo was moved to tears.
During the recent filming of the 18th episode of SBS Life's 'Mysterious Stories,' the theme of 'inheritance' led to an emotional moment as shamans shared their painful experiences of receiving spiritual callings. The studio was filled with tears as they recounted their struggles.
On this episode, Cheon Ji Shindang reflected on the unavoidable path of becoming a shaman. She shared her tragic life story, including seeing spirits from a young age and witnessing the illness and death of her father and siblings, all while shedding tears.
The shamans in the studio resonated with Cheon Ji Shindang's confession, and host Lee Guk-joo, overwhelmed with emotion, wiped her tears and spoke. She said, "I was moved to tears listening to the stories. The saddest part was the feeling of 'because of me.' The regret of thinking 'if I had become a shaman sooner, this wouldn't have happened' was heartbreaking," expressing her admiration for their resilience.
The eerie and chilling stories shared by shamans such as Cheon Shin-ae Lee Yeosul, Cheon Ji Shindang Jung Mi-jung, Myunghwa-dang Ham Yoon-jae, Cheon Hwang Byeol Shinnyeo, Yeon Hee Shingung Lee Mi-sook, and Haul Shindang Cheon Mu on the theme of 'inheritance' will be aired on SBS Life's 'Mysterious Stories' on Tuesday, the 29th, at 10:10 PM.
Meanwhile, Lee Guk-joo recently revealed that she started living in a 9-pyeong studio apartment in Tokyo, Japan, since April. She shared, "I turned 40, and next year marks my 20th anniversary since debut. For the past 4-5 years, I've been going through the motions, doing only what was asked of me," expressing her desire for new challenges. She added, "I wanted to learn a new language and thought vaguely, 'If I can speak Japanese, maybe I can try something new,'" which garnered much attention.
In response to criticism about her luxurious lifestyle in Japan, she clarified, "This is not a challenge or living alone like in my 20s. I'm in my 40s," firmly stating her position.
