In a surprising turn of events, former 'Boys Planet' Season 1 contestants Chaijinshin, Xuanhao, and Christian, who returned for another shot at stardom, were eliminated before the main competition even began. Despite the show's emphasis on the importance of 'Star Creator' votes, these contestants, who were previously ranked high, were ousted before any voting could take place, leaving some viewers feeling disillusioned.
On the episode aired on the 25th, Mnet's 'Boys 2 Planet C' showcased the first official evaluation with the signal song 'Hola Solar' test. Contestants gave their all to prove their potential in an unfamiliar environment. The 'Planet C' master panel, consisting of Kim Jaejoong, Lim Hanbyul, Hyolyn, Baek Gooyoung, Jaylick, Xiaoting, and Justhis, provided sharp analysis and heartfelt feedback, delivering weighty evaluations.
Following the global showcase of the signal song, the results of the second evaluation, which combined the master panel and Star Creator's individual stage assessments, were revealed, confirming 28 survivors from 'Planet C'. The determination of the remaining contestants to carry the torch for those who had to leave was touching.
Out of a total of 80 survivors announced, 'Planet C' had significantly fewer survivors compared to 'Planet K', with only 28 making it through. The show's CP had previously stated at a press conference that the number of contestants was increased to 160 to give everyone a chance to shine. However, the immediate elimination system and the mass eliminations before the main competition puzzled viewers.
Notably, Chaijinshin ranked 2nd in the first episode and 5th in the second, while Xuanhao was 7th and 10th, respectively. Despite their popularity, their elimination before the Star Creators could vote after watching the performances led fans to express dissatisfaction, questioning if the show was toying with both contestants and viewers.
The upcoming episode of 'Boys 2 Planet' on the 31st will feature the 80 survivors from Planet K and Planet C meeting for a 1-on-1 rank battle.
