SBS's New Drama 'Try: We Become a Miracle' Aims to Captivate Audiences with Rugby-Themed Storyline

SBS's latest drama 'Try: We Become a Miracle' is set to premiere, following the conclusion of Namkoong Min's 'Our Movie' with a 4.1% viewership rating. The new series is generating buzz as audiences wonder if it will achieve greater success.

On the 25th, a press conference for the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Try: We Become a Miracle' (hereafter referred to as 'Try') was held at the SBS headquarters in Mokdong, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Yoon Kye-sang, Im Se-mi, Kim Yo-han, and director Jang Young-seok.

'Try' is a comedic sports drama that follows the unpredictable director Joo Ga-ram (played by Yoon Kye-sang) and the perpetually last-place Hanyang High School rugby team as they strive for victory at the national sports festival.

Yoon Kye-sang takes on the role of Joo Ga-ram, a retired national rugby player and the coach of the Hanyang High School rugby team. He explained his choice to join the project, saying, "The script was entertaining. While viewers might think it's a typical story, it's anything but." He added, "The strong storyline is the drama's strength and appeal."

When asked about his chemistry with the cast, Yoon Kye-sang responded, "It was great." He shared, "Before starting this project, the director provided us with a rehearsal space for about two and a half months, so we clicked from the first shoot."

This marks Yoon Kye-sang's return to an SBS drama after 18 years since 'Crazy for Love' in 2007. He expressed his eagerness to impress, stating, "I want to show my best since it's been 18 years. I'm confident it will do well." He urged viewers to tune in, promising, "It's a drama where you can discover the new charm of rugby. Please show a lot of interest."

Im Se-mi plays Bae Yi-ji, Joo Ga-ram's ex-girlfriend and the playing coach of the Hanyang High School shooting team. When asked about her preparation for the role, she said, "I trained alone at a shooting range." She explained, "Although shooting isn't a contact sport, I practiced diligently, trying to reflect on myself as if meditating."

Im Se-mi also confessed her admiration for Yoon Kye-sang, saying, "When I heard my partner was Yoon Kye-sang, I had no reason to refuse. I'm a fan of g.o.d and especially of Yoon Kye-sang." She added with a laugh, "My online ID was 'Kye-sang's wife.' As someone from Gangnam who was a fan, it's an honor to work with him."

She encouraged viewers to watch the shooting team, saying, "While the rugby team engages physically, the shooting team focuses quietly. There are many friends between Joo Ga-ram and Bae Yi-ji, and their relationships are interesting. There are many warm and delightful moments, so please show a lot of interest."

Kim Yo-han, who plays Yoon Sung-joon, the captain of the Hanyang High School rugby team, said, "The script was so fun, and I really wanted to play the character Yoon Sung-joon." He explained the appeal of rugby, saying, "Rugby is a sport that can't be played alone. Passing, physical contact, and teamwork must all come together to place the ball in the designated area. No one can be missing."

When asked how he prepared for the role of a rugby player, he replied, "I trained with rugby players every week for three months before filming." Kim Yo-han shared, "It was challenging because it's an unfamiliar sport, but I gradually found it enjoyable. I had fun both during practice and filming."

Director Jang Young-seok admitted, "There was pressure to continue the success of previous SBS sports dramas," but added, "I made the work with the expectation that if we capture the thrilling charm of rugby well, we can bring joy to the viewers."

He concluded, "'Try' portrays children who dream of goals that aren't easily cheered for by others and adults who support them wholeheartedly. I hope viewers will watch our drama with a warm, supportive heart. Please show it a lot of love."

'Try' premieres tonight at 9:50 PM.
