YouTube Star Woo Jeong-ing Meets Her Idol Group Members on 'Today’s Debut Team'

YouTube sensation Woo Jeong-ing, with 800,000 subscribers, has finally met the members of her upcoming idol group.

On October 18, the third episode of the music web variety show 'Today’s Debut Team' was released on the YouTube channel Studio Welcome. This show is a collaborative project between Studio Welcome and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation. The ultimate goal is for Woo Jeong-ing and her team to perform on the commemorative stage in August.

In this episode, Woo Jeong-ing, who had been anxiously waiting, finally met her team members: dancer Amy, rapper Mirani, and former LOONA member Hyunjin. Each member brings a unique flair from their respective fields of YouTube, dance, hip-hop, and K-pop, showcasing their diverse talents in the third episode.

Amy, known from 'Street Woman Fighter 2', has choreographed for numerous K-pop artists like TWICE and ITZY. Mirani gained fame as a TOP8 contestant on 'Show Me the Money 9' and continues to captivate audiences with hits like 'VVS', 'Achoo', and 'Daisy'. Hyunjin, formerly of LOONA and LOOΠΔ, now runs her own label, TRIANGLE Enm.

During their first meeting, the group quickly established their hierarchy. Hyunjin, debuting in 2016 with LOONA, emphasized that in the idol world, debut years matter more than age, asserting her seniority despite being the youngest in 'Today’s Debut Team'.

Mirani noted that in the hip-hop scene, the quality of albums is more respected than debut years. Woo Jeong-ing humorously pointed out that in the creator world, viewer counts determine status. Amy added that in the dance community, passion for dance defines a dancer.

The group also demonstrated their unique ways of holding microphones. Hyunjin and Mirani showcased the differences between idol and rapper styles, with Mirani explaining, "Rappers grip the mic and gradually lower it," while Woo Jeong-ing joked about YouTubers having fixed overhead mics for reactions.

As they got to know each other, the atmosphere became more relaxed. Hyunjin shared insights into idol life, including airport fashion, makeup tips, and dorm rules. Amy discussed the challenges dancers face, like practicing without sleep. Mirani entertained with stories about how rappers request features.

The conversation turned to desired positions within the group. Mirani expressed her ambition to be the 'ending fairy', a coveted role in idol performances. The members took turns striking 'ending fairy' poses, leading to a humorous competition as Mirani vied for the position.

Despite their different backgrounds, Woo Jeong-ing, Amy, Mirani, and Hyunjin are eager to unite as a team and showcase their talents. Their journey to idol debut is chronicled in 'Today’s Debut Team', airing every Friday at 6 PM on the YouTube channel Studio Welcome.
