Legal Battle Intensifies: HYBE Labels and Min Hee-jin Face Off in Court

The third hearing in the lawsuit filed by Source Music, the agency of the group LE SSERAFIM, and Belift Lab, the agency of I-LAND, against former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin is set to take place.

On the 18th, the Seoul Western District Court's Civil Division 12 (Chief Judge) will hold the third hearing for the 2 billion KRW (approximately $1.5 million USD) damages lawsuit filed by HYBE Labels against Min Hee-jin. The hearing for Belift Lab was initially scheduled for May but was postponed at the plaintiff's request to coincide with Source Music's hearing. Both Min Hee-jin and Source Music & Belift Lab are expected to present their arguments using PowerPoint presentations.

Source Music filed a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin in July last year, seeking damages of around 500 million KRW (approximately $375,000 USD). The agency claims that Min Hee-jin made allegations about directly casting NewJeans members and accused Source Music of neglecting the members.

Belift Lab also filed a lawsuit seeking 2 billion KRW in damages, countering Min Hee-jin's claims that I-LAND plagiarized NewJeans, which they assert are unfounded.

Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin continues to be embroiled in legal disputes with HYBE. Recently, on the 15th, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station decided not to pursue charges against Min Hee-jin for breach of duty, citing 'no charges'.
