Kang Ha-neul and Seo Hyun-woo surprised everyone with their unexpected skills on SBS's variety show 'Anytime, Anywhere,' achieving a three-stage all-clear in just four attempts. Kang Ha-neul also revealed his struggle with claustrophobia, shocking the audience.
'Anytime, Anywhere' is a variety show that brings luck during brief moments in everyday life. In the 30th episode, aired on the 15th, hosts Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, along with 'gap friends' Kang Ha-neul and Seo Hyun-woo, visited Magok-dong. The episode recorded a 1.4% viewership rating among the 2049 demographic and a 4.1% rating in the metropolitan area, securing the top spot in its time slot and among all Tuesday entertainment and drama shows, according to Nielsen Korea.
From the start, Kang Ha-neul and Seo Hyun-woo displayed their quirky charm. Their first encounter was with a botanical garden employee. Kang Ha-neul amused the employee with unusual questions like, “Do you plant all the melon seeds at once?” and “Is it true that eating too many melons is bad for your stomach?” He also confessed his unique eating habits, saying, “I eat tangerines whole and even eat shrimp from head to tail.” Yoo Jae-suk humorously added, “Jung Joon-ha eats like that too.”
Seo Hyun-woo surprised everyone with his school nickname, “Ecolai,” a combination of “psycho” and “crazy.” Yoo Jae-suk commented, “You must have been quite something,” eliciting laughter from everyone.
The first game was 'Bottle Flipping.' Seo Hyun-woo succeeded on his first try, heating up the atmosphere. When Seo Hyun-woo expressed disbelief at his success, Yoo Jae-suk jokingly asked, “Are you a hustler?” Yoo Yeon-seok cleared the second stage on his third attempt, prompting Kang Ha-neul to humorously worry, “Are we going to stack bottles on top of each other?” When Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-woo succeeded in the third stage on their fourth attempt, Yoo Jae-suk praised them as “masters.”
Seo Hyun-woo also impressed with his intellectual side, revealing that he entered university as an English major before dropping out and quickly preparing for practical exams to enter the Korea National University of Arts. Yoo Yeon-seok teased, “Hyun-woo's glasses look different now. They're not like Jae-suk's.” Yoo Jae-suk jokingly protested, “Are mine just for face protection?” Yoo Yeon-seok replied, “You can't take yours off, but Hyun-woo's are for studying,” causing more laughter. Meanwhile, Kang Ha-neul's confession of claustrophobia drew attention. He shared, “Even on a crowded subway, I have to get off at the next stop and take a break before getting back on. It's gotten worse lately, making filming in confined spaces challenging.”
The second challenge was with airline employees, playing 'Carrier Curling.' Seo Hyun-woo enthusiastically shouted “Youngmi!” from the start, successfully completing the first stage with his suitcase sliding technique. Yoo Jae-suk praised, “He's a hustler, really,” and expressed confidence, saying, “We're in good form today.” In their fourth attempt, Seo Hyun-woo and Yoo Yeon-seok's teamwork led to a successful second stage. The airline employees stopped at the second stage with seven chances left, surprising everyone. Seo Hyun-woo exclaimed, “I didn't know I had a knack for games until today,” while Kang Ha-neul expressed his eagerness to participate again, saying, “I want to apply for 'Anytime, Anywhere' next time,” ending the episode on a humorous note.
