K-pop sensation BoA has announced the suspension of her upcoming performances due to a diagnosis of acute bone necrosis.
On the 15th, BoA's agency, SM Entertainment, revealed, "BoA's fifth solo concert has been canceled due to health concerns."
SM Entertainment explained, "BoA recently experienced severe knee pain and was diagnosed with acute bone necrosis, which requires surgical treatment. Medical professionals have advised against strenuous physical activities, including dancing, to prevent the progression of the disease. Consequently, BoA has decided to undergo surgery soon."
As a result, BoA's 25th-anniversary concert, initially scheduled for August 30-31, has been canceled. SM stated, "This year marks a significant milestone as BoA celebrates her 25th debut anniversary. Despite the concert cancellation, we plan to release the completed album as scheduled to honor the fans' anticipation. Future concert plans will be announced based on BoA's recovery post-surgery."
BoA will also be absent from the 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Tokyo' event, scheduled for September 9-10. BoA's team expressed, "We regret to inform you that BoA will not be participating in the 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Tokyo' this August. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this sudden news and extend our apologies to those who were looking forward to the performance."
