Lee Dong-wook and Oh Na-ra Star in New JTBC Drama 'The Good Man'

Actors Lee Dong-wook, Oh Na-ra, Ryu Hye-young, and Cheon Ho-jin come together as a realistic family in the upcoming JTBC Friday series 'The Good Man'.

On the 9th, the production team of 'The Good Man' (directed by Song Hae-sung and Park Hong-soo, written by Kim Woon-kyung and Kim Hyo-seok, provided by SLL, produced by Hive Media Corp and High Ground) released the third teaser video featuring the spectacular family dynamics of Park Seok-cheol (played by Lee Dong-wook), Park Seok-gyeong (played by Oh Na-ra), Park Seok-hee (played by Ryu Hye-young), and Park Sil-gon (played by Cheon Ho-jin).

'The Good Man' is an emotional noir that follows Park Seok-cheol, the eldest grandson of a three-generation gangster family with an unexpected tender heart, and his first love, aspiring singer Kang Mi-young (played by Lee Sung-kyung). The drama promises to deliver heartfelt laughter and deep resonance as it portrays the passionate love of two individuals who risk everything for their loved ones and their journey to find dreams amidst harsh realities.

Directed by Song Hae-sung, known for his delicate touch in films like 'Failan', 'Boomerang Family', and 'Maundy Thursday', and Park Hong-soo of the drama 'Lost', the series raises expectations. The collaboration with writers Kim Woon-kyung, celebrated for works like 'Yuna's Street', 'Seoul's Moon', and 'The Blue Bird', and Kim Hyo-seok of the film 'Opposition' ensures a high level of quality.

Lee Dong-wook and Oh Na-ra Star in New JTBC Drama 'The Good Man'

As the first drama by Hive Media Corp, recognized for its solid planning and production in films like 'Spring in Seoul', 'Opposition', 'The Man Standing Next', 'Deliver Us from Evil', and 'Inside Men', anticipation is high. The synergy of a trusted cast, including Lee Dong-wook, Lee Sung-kyung, Park Hoon, Oh Na-ra, Ryu Hye-young, and Cheon Ho-jin, adds to the excitement.

The newly released third teaser video captures attention with the story of an ordinary yet extraordinary family. The siblings Park Seok-cheol, Park Seok-gyeong, and Park Seok-hee bicker over trivial matters like sock ownership but quickly unite to protect each other when an outsider threatens their family. As Kang Mi-young says, "Whenever I'm struggling, you're the first thing that comes to mind. It might be fate," they find comfort and honesty in their family.

Even in a fate-bound relationship, unresolved feelings linger. Park Seok-cheol's words to his father, Park Sil-gon, "Who do you think I started this for?" reveal deep resentment and add intrigue to their complicated father-son story. The phrase "Too close to resent, perhaps a story like everyone's" following Park Seok-cheol's attempt to break the gangster lineage and Park Sil-gon's regret for leading his son into the organization heightens anticipation for the relatable emotional noir.

Meanwhile, JTBC's 'The Good Man' premieres on Friday, the 18th, at 8:50 PM, with two consecutive episodes airing every Friday.
