K-pop group NOWZ has shared their thoughts on changing their group name just one year after debut.
On November 9th, NOWZ held a media showcase at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their first mini album, 'IGNITION'.
Last month, NOWZ officially announced the change of their group name from 'Nowadays' to 'NOWZ'. This rebranding effort, coming just a year after their debut, aims to redefine the group's identity and present new possibilities as they strive to become a leading group in the industry.
Hyunbin explained, "'Now' signifies the present moment, and 'Z' represents infinite possibilities. The new name embodies the idea that NOWZ is creating infinite possibilities at this very moment." He added, "After discussions with the company, we decided to make a fresh start with a new name."
Yeonwoo shared, "'NOWZ' is a name that fans have affectionately used as a nickname, so it feels familiar. I believe it's a positive change that will be easier for more people to remember. We've returned with a new name and music, so please look forward to it."
The title track 'EVERGLOW' is an alternative rock song that combines refreshing electric guitar and metal sounds. It conveys a message of unwavering determination, like a flame that continues to burn even in ashes, expressing NOWZ's intense charm. Under the direction of main producer EL CAPITXN, known for numerous hit songs, members Jinhyuk and Siyoon participated in the rap-making.
NOWZ's first mini album 'IGNITION' will be released on various music streaming sites at 6 PM today.
