Cha In-pyo Ventures into Animation Dubbing with 'King of Kings'


Actor Cha In-pyo has taken on his first-ever role in dubbing a feature-length animation.

On September 30th, a behind-the-scenes video of the dubbing process for the film 'King of Kings' was released on YouTube. The video features actors Kwon Oh-joong, Jang Gwang, and Cha In-pyo, showcasing their dubbing sessions and interviews.

Set to premiere on the 16th, 'King of Kings' is an animated film that follows British author Charles Dickens and his youngest son Walter as they embark on a journey into one of the greatest stories from 2,000 years ago. In the film, Cha In-pyo voices the character of Pontius Pilate.

Cha In-pyo expressed, "The story, which I only knew in a flat sense, came to life in a new way through animation." He added, "I immersed myself by mimicking even the expressions of the character," showing his dedication to the role.

Jang Gwang, who voices the high priest, remarked, "Even though it's an animation, I was amazed by the detail, down to the eyebrows and lips." He continued, "My character is a villain, but I believe he plays a crucial role in completing the story, so I gave it my all."

Cha In-pyo debuted as an actor in 1993 through MBC's 22nd open recruitment and married Shin Ae-ra in 1995.
