K-pop group TWS is set to illuminate Japan's summer with their refreshing debut.
The group, consisting of members Shinyu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin, released their first Japanese single 'Nice to see you again' on the 2nd. On the same day, they held a debut showcase in Tokyo, marking the start of their official activities in Japan.
The new release encapsulates the essence of TWS's unique genre, 'Boyhood Pop.' 'Nice to see you again' offers a special thrill in everyday life, reminiscent of sparkling summer memories. The title track's lyrics dream of a new beginning through the relationship of 'us,' rather than 'you' and 'me,' evoking the fresh emotions of youth. The group's signature refreshing sound and lively performance make it enjoyable for everyone.
'BLOOM (feat. Ayumu Imazu)' features popular artist Ayumu Imazu, who contributed to the lyrics, composition, and even featured in the track. This song has been selected as the opening theme for the Japanese TV animation 'A Bouquet for the Ugly,' airing from July. The single also includes the Japanese version of their domestic debut hit 'First Meeting Doesn't Go as Planned,' titled 'plot twist -Japanese ver.-,' making a total of three tracks.
The anticipation for TWS's entry into the Japanese market is significant, as evidenced by their impact on music charts. Following the release of the title track's music video on June 30th, keywords like 'TWS-chan' and 'Japan debut' trended on Japan's X (formerly Twitter). After their performance on TBS's 'CDTV Live! Live!' the same day, related keywords like 'CDTV Live! Live!' and 'full-size' also topped the trends.
Viewers of 'CDTV Live! Live!' praised the group's performance, calling it a "perfect live that fits the term super rookie," "a performance that lived up to TWS's reputation," and "a stage that sparkled with refreshing energy."
TWS will continue their promotional activities by appearing on popular terrestrial programs such as Nippon TV's variety show 'Dayday.' on the 3rd and Nippon TV's summer special music broadcast 'THE MUSIC DAY 2025' on the 5th. Following this, they will embark on their first tour, '2025 TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN JAPAN,' with 13 performances across six Japanese cities starting July 11th.
