Actor Choo Young-woo shares his thoughts on his rising popularity.
On the 24th, Choo Young-woo appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Theo's web variety show 'Salon Drip 2'.
When asked if he feels his growing popularity, Choo Young-woo responded, "I feel proud that I can treat my friends to meals and be a son my parents can be proud of." He added, "I usually don't wear hats or masks. I just go about my day, and if someone recognizes me, I greet them warmly. Most of the sightings are at the gym or park."
Host Jang Do-yeon asked, "Didn't you ever wish to be recognized?" Choo Young-woo replied, "After 'The Tale of Mrs. Ok' did well, I was curious about the reactions. I took a taxi with a friend to a PC room in Sinsa. The first five gentlemen we met said, 'Oh? That's him, Ok.' I thought, 'I'm glad the drama did well,' and continued playing games." He added, "Everything is fun these days. It's exciting to be here and meet seniors. I'm also busy spotting celebrities wherever I go," bringing laughter.
Choo Young-woo's projects, including 'The Tale of Mrs. Ok' and 'Trauma Center,' have been consecutive hits. He remarked, "It's fascinating to see my face on TV and OTT platforms when I log in with my ID. So, when friends come over, I keep it on." Choo Young-woo shared, "I auditioned for both roles. Being a newcomer, there were concerns about me taking on lead roles. But from the middle of the projects, those concerns turned into compliments."
Choo Young-woo revealed his audition secrets, saying, "I've attended many auditions. When I first enter the audition room, the director observes me, but I also observe them. I think about what they might want. Sometimes, I mix in difficult words when answering questions. If the director likes fun and MZ-style, I speak freely and joke around."
