Kim Jong-kook, who made headlines for purchasing a $6.2 million home in cash in the upscale Nonhyeon-dong area of Gangnam, Seoul, has announced his plans to move without hiring a moving company.
On the October 22nd episode of SBS's variety show 'Running Man,' Kim Jong-kook shared his current moving preparations and his intention to handle the move himself. Fellow cast member Haha asked, "Have you moved yet?" to which Kim replied, "Not yet. I couldn't sleep because I was packing all night. Once I started, I couldn't stop."
Yoo Jae-suk, known to own real estate assets worth approximately $30 million, advised, "Call a truck instead of using envelopes." Kim Jong-kook admitted, "I was going to mention that, but I ran out of envelopes while preparing for the move. I kept forgetting to say it. I had to recycle and bring them back."
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Why do you need so many envelopes for moving?" Kim Jong-kook explained, "Because I have to sort the recyclables." Yoo suggested using boxes, but Kim insisted, "There's a lot of trash."
Choi Daniel expressed surprise, "Don't moving companies handle everything these days?" Kim Jong-kook responded, "I have to do it all myself. I plan to pack everything." Yang Se-chan asked if he would hire a moving company, to which Kim firmly replied, "No, I won't." Ji Ye-eun and other members tried to dissuade him.
Yang Se-chan incredulously asked, "Are you going to carry the refrigerator yourself?" Kim Jong-kook revealed, "I was actually planning to call Ma Seon-ho and the guys." He explained that the new house is very close, making it awkward to hire a moving company. However, Yoo Jae-suk insisted, "No, you have to call them. You need to spend money. Strength alone isn't enough."
