KBS has regulations that restrict appearances by individuals involved in illegal or unethical activities that cause public controversy.
The fan club expressed regret for the social disturbance caused by Kim Ho-joong, acknowledging their initial blame and reliance on media reports. They claimed to have learned the truth during the appellate process and wished to share it.
The fan club argued that Kim Ho-joong was subjected to a harsh public trial fueled by false media reports and speculation. They highlighted his urgent need for surgery due to a severe ankle condition, which he could not address while incarcerated. They urged the public to listen to Kim Ho-joong's side and hoped for a future without sensational headlines that create unjust situations.
Meanwhile, Kim Ho-joong submitted a withdrawal of appeal to the Supreme Court on the 19th of last month, finalizing his 2-year and 6-month prison sentence as determined by the appellate court. His team communicated through a fan cafe that the decision to forgo the appeal was made after much deliberation.
