In a special episode celebrating his retirement, Choo will be joined by his 'true fans' Shin Ki-ru, Hong Yun-hwa, and Shin Hyun-soo. Known as one of the greatest Korean MLB players, Choo will reveal various anecdotes from his major league days and his recent activities with his team. He will also participate in a special baseball event with fellow sports veterans Kang Ho-dong and Seo Jang-hoon.
Fans can look forward to this unique episode featuring Choo and his three dedicated fans, airing in July on JTBC's 'Knowing Bros'.
After retiring, Choo Shin-soo has taken on the role of advisor and development director for the SSG Landers. His retirement ceremony was recently held at Incheon SSG Landers Field.
However, Choo's farewell speech sparked controversy among some fans. During the ceremony, he expressed his admiration for the Lotte Giants, which upset some SSG Landers fans who felt overlooked.
In his speech, Choo stated, "First, I want to say something to the Lotte fans. I grew up in Busan and played baseball there. I was a kid who watched games at Sajik Stadium, supported by Lotte fans." He continued, "Although I never wore a Lotte uniform in Korea, the passion and support from Lotte Giants fans are unmatched. I hope you continue to support the Lotte Giants players." He also expressed gratitude to the Landers fans, saying, "I lived in the U.S. for 22 years and often felt like an outsider. I was worried it would be the same here, but you welcomed me like family and helped me adapt to Korean baseball."
